About Aston Eyecare
About Aston Eyecare
Our mission is to provide excellent eye care and service at a great value to the patient.
We are Independent Doctors of Optometry, and patient care is at the core of our hearts. In order to give you the best eye exam, we use the latest equipment and technology, which gives us the most accurate results for the correct diagnosis. With advanced imaging techniques, we capture photos and scans of the back of your eye to help diagnose and keep track of your eye health. We use equipment which is FDA approved and recognised for its accuracy and repeatability.
We have a large selection of frames with many different styles, shapes, colours, and sizes. We go directly to the suppliers and hand pick our frames to provide our extensive variety. At Aston Eyecare, we keep things clean and open with plenty of space for patients to try out glasses.
We also use high-quality lenses to ensure crisp vision for the patient. Premium Anti- Reflective and Scratch-Resistant coatings are included in every lens we sell. For us, lenses are the most important in a pair of glasses. We only recommend the best progressives, which are easy to adapt to, and use suppliers like Essilor and Nikon.
We also direct bill to most insurance companies, to make life easier for you.
How it started
Dr Mohammad moved to Vancouver Island from UK, and saw that eyecare was far too expensive and inaccessible for a lot of people. She decided to provide good value to suit all individual needs.
Dr Mohammad qualified as an optometrist with First Class Honours from Aston University, UK in 2010. She has over ten years of optometric experience in two different countries (UK and Canada). In the past, Dr. Mohammad has been involved in continued education and training of Optometrists in Tanzania. She travelled in Africa to different villages, participating in eye exams for impoverished communities, providing them with visual correction and working alongside charities involved in vision care projects. She has also been a representative for the Association of Optometrists (UK).
Dr Mohammad moved to Canada after completing her externship. While in Canada, she has worked at various clinics, employed other optometrists to work in the clinics she has run, and worked alongside optometrists including Registrar of the College of Optometrists of BC. She took all the best practices from UK and Canada and implemented them in Aston Eyecare. Dr Mohammad strives to provide the best eye exams and focuses on the needs of the patient. Dr Mohammad thoroughly enjoys her profession. It is a privilege for her to practice optometry and help her patients maintain healthy eyes.
